Choudwar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today laid the foundation stone for the renowned textile company Welspun’s textile complex at Choudwar.
Along with this, a glorious chapter of industrial redevelopment begins in Choudwar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that this is a very happy day for us as Choudwar is going to regain its glory today. In the early 50s, Biju Babu laid the foundation for industrial development here. Once again a new history has been written for Choudwar, Cuttack district and for the whole of Odisha in the field of industry.
It is worth mentioning that Welspun Group is a famous textile manufacturing company in the world. It is building an integrated textile manufacturing facility and warehousing complex at Chaudwar. For this, the company is investing Rs 3,050 crore. This will create 10,000 employment opportunities. Along with this, the industrial environment of the state will be improved creating huge business opportunities for small and medium industries.
During the 2022 Make-in-Odisha programme, a team on behalf of the State Industries Department and IPICOL, proposed before the Chairman of Wellspun Group Mr B.K. Goenka to establish this industry in Odisha. He agreed with this proposal because of the availability of a favourable industrial environment in Odisha.
The Chief Minister said that the cotton farmers of our districts like Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada and Gajapati will also benefit from this industry. There will be many opportunities for women in the textile industry, he said that their skills will be developed and there will be many opportunities for their employment.
Thanking the Welspun Group Chairman Mr. B.K. Goenka for investing in Odisha, the Chief Minister said that Welspun Group’s partnership will create a new chapter of growth in Odisha’s development journey. He promised that the state government would provide all support for the success of this industry.
Attending the program, 5T and Naveen Odisha Chairman Mr Karthik Pandian exchanged views with the public and discussed about the increased allowance of various schemes. In connection with Madhu Babu Pension, Mamata, LAccMI and Kalakar Sahayata Schemes, he made people aware of the increase in allowances. Giving information about the new O scholarship, he said that the students will get this scholarship by the 25th of this month.
