Bhubaneswar: The Odisha cabinet on Monday approved the Ekamra Kshetra Amenities and Monument Revival Action (EKAMRA) Scheme at a cost outlay of Rs. 656.73 crore.
The scheme was launched to revive and preserve the heritage value and grandeur of Lord Lingaraj Temple and its surroundings.
The objective of the scheme is to enhance the living heritage, continuous traditions, and a complete timeline of Kalinga Architectural Development to protect and strengthen the linkages between the area’s natural and built heritage assets. The scheme will be implemented from 2020–21 to 2024–25.
The state cabinet also accorded approval to Rs. 388.26 crore for the Samaleswari Temple Area Management and Local Economic Initiative( SAMALEI) scheme to celebrate the grandeur of Maa Samaleswari temple for the tourism-based economy of Sambalpur and Odisha. The scheme will be implemented from 2021 to 2025.
