Tendulkar, Ganguly, Yuvraj React After India’s Heartbreaking 22-Run Defeat vs England at Lord’s

India’s narrow 22-run loss to England in the third Test at Lord’s sparked emotional reactions from cricketing legends, as the team’s valiant effort on Day 5 ultimately fell short in a 193-run chase.

Despite Ravindra Jadeja’s gritty unbeaten 61, India collapsed for 170, with Mohammed Siraj’s dismissal sealing the result and leaving the pacer visibly heartbroken.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly praised the intensity of the contest but lamented the missed opportunity.

“What a test match… India will leave Lord’s very disappointed. They played so well in all 3 Tests. But down 2-1… it was a Test match to be won. Jadeja fought hard and showed 193 was not a big total,” Ganguly wrote on X.

Sachin Tendulkar echoed the sentiments, highlighting the resilience shown by India’s lower order.

“So near, yet so far… Jadeja, Bumrah, & Siraj fought all the way till the end. Well tried, Team India. England played well to keep the pressure on and produced the result they desired. Congratulations on a hard-fought win,” he posted.

Yuvraj Singh, known for his fighting spirit, emphasized the mental strength India showed under pressure.

“Not the result we wanted, but this match will be remembered for the fight we showed. Jadeja and Siraj stood tall in a pressure cooker situation! A performance that demands respect — not just for the skill, but for the mindset!”

India now trail 1-2 in the five-match Test series, with two crucial games remaining. England’s early Day 5 burst took three quick wickets, but Jadeja’s resistance, aided by an aging ball, kept hopes alive until the very end. Siraj, the final wicket, was consoled by England players after the loss — a moment that reflected both heartbreak and sportsmanship.

The cricketing world may debate the tactical missteps, but for many fans and legends, Team India’s fighting spirit remains the most memorable takeaway.
