Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has thanked Sony TV for highlighting Odisha’s sustained efforts to promote production and consumption of millets through its popular programme MasterChef India.
Odisha Millets Mission started by Odisha Government aims at large-scale revival of these indigenous super grains to make them essential part of modern day diet for a healthy life, informed the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The Odisha Millets Mission department of the State government informed about the development through its X handle. “A culinary symphony! From the heart of Odisha to the Master Chef India stage, our millets took center stage in a flavorful journey. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @naveen_odisha’s inspiring words resonated worldwide, highlighting the mission’s essence. A big shoutout to @SonyEntertain19, @ranveerbrar @TheVikasKhanna and @poojadhingraa for weaving magic! Let’s celebrate the revival of ancient grains, nourishing both tradition and health,” it said.
It is to be noted here that the Naveen Patnaik-led set up the Odisha Millets Mission in April 2017, and aims to improve productivity, promote household level consumption, set up decentralized Processing facilities, promoting Farmer Collectives and Marketing and inclusion of millets in Nutrition Programmes (SNP to begin with) schemes.
