The Odisha government is stepping up efforts to multiply farmers’ income through digital technologies and innovation. Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture, Farmers Empowerment, and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, announced the government’s commitment during a presentation by representatives of Map My Crop at the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan.

Map My Crop has expressed interest in collaborating with the Odisha government to enhance agricultural practices and disaster management. The presentation was attended by Principal Secretary, Agriculture Department, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture, Premachandra Chaudhary, and Director of Horticulture, Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, who provided valuable feedback.

As a disaster-prone state, Odisha faces annual challenges from cyclones, unseasonal rains, floods, and sea storms, which severely impact farmers. Map My Crop showcased its expertise in offering advance disaster information, post-disaster crop damage assessment through satellite imagery, and detailed data on farmland locations, crop types, and crop health.

Currently, digital technology, including the Agri Stack App, is being utilized for farmland and crop mapping in Odisha’s agriculture sector. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singh Deo emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to use digital technology to increase farmers’ income.

Key participants in the meeting included Sanjay Bobde, Business Director of Map My Crop, Sales Head Adarsh Nair, Dilip Dash, Giridhar Gwalani, Anand Tamrakar, and A Sheikh.
