Bhubaneswar: Former MLA and Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly, Maheswar Mohanty was rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after he fell ill on Tuesday
As per initial reports, Mohanty, who had represented the Puri Assembly Constituency, was diagnosed with a mild brain stroke. He is currently under ventilator support in the hospital.
According to reports, the senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and a former minister attended several programmes in Puri and took part in the Gajalakshmi Puja celebration in the Badashankha area. After he returned home, Mohanty complained of uneasiness and started trembling. He was rushed to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
According to Puri Town BJD president Sabyasachi Mohapatra, “Mohanty’s condition is stable now.”
Last month, Mohanty was admitted to the hospital with illness for a few days.
