Bhubaneswar: Acting on intelligence tip-offs, the Special Task Force (STF) conducted a raid at Khordha and apprehended one decamping drug peddler named Md Sadam of Danagohiri, Puri on Friday.
The accused was wanted in STF PS case No. 01/2022 dated 25.01.2022 U/s. 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 r/w. Sec.25/27 Arms Act, 1959 on 25.01.2022.
In this case, contraband brown sugar 03 kg 110 grams, 03 numbers 7 MM Pistol, 07 nos Magazine, 43 rounds of 7 mm Ammunitions, One Khoka and other incriminating materials were seized from the possession of the accused persons.
The accused Sadam, the main supplier of arms and ammunition to the accused person Siba Prasad Das, absconded from the spot during the raid.
Accordingly, the Sadam has been arrested and forwarded to the court of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge, Nayagarh on 30.09.2023.
Similarly. the STF arrested another absconding accused person named Chittaranjan Behera of Nayagarh in PS case No. 37/2021 Dt 20.12.2021, U/s-21 (c)/29 NDPS Act 1985.
In this case, contraband brown sugar 1090 grams and other incriminating materials were seized from the possession of the accused persons. The apprehended accused was absconded from the spot during the raid.
The accused has been arrested and forwarded to the court of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Spl. Judge, Dhenkanal on 30.09.2023.
The accused was earlier booked in Nandankanan PS Case No. 01 Dt.07.01.2022 U/S 20(b)(ii)(c)/29 NDPS Act.
Investigations are on in both cases.
