Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), highlighting internal discord over the party’s state leadership in Telangana.

In a letter addressed to Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, Singh expressed his dissatisfaction and called for a serious re-evaluation of the party’s leadership approach in the state.

Despite stepping down, Singh reiterated his steadfast commitment to the Hindutva ideology and pledged to continue working for the welfare of the Hindu community. “This is not a departure from my principles,” he wrote. “I will raise my voice with even greater strength for the Dharma and the people who believe in it.”

Calling his resignation a “difficult but necessary” decision, Singh remarked that silence from many within the party should not be mistaken for agreement. “I speak not just for myself but for many karyakartas and voters who feel disheartened,” he noted.

In a direct appeal, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and party general secretary BL Santhosh to reconsider the state unit’s leadership strategy. He believes a leadership revamp is critical for the BJP to realise its full potential in Telangana.

Singh’s resignation is likely to further intensify the ongoing debate within the party’s state unit, as the BJP prepares for crucial political battles ahead in the region.
