Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday carried out searches at the office and residences of the officials of M/s Hindustan Steel Construction Works Ltd at N-1-157, Nayapalli, IRC Village in Bhubaneswar in connection with sub-standard execution and misappropriation of funds in the construction of four hostel blocks in Sonepur district, which were allotted to the company by the SC&ST Development Department, Government of Odisha.
The raids are carried out on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir, Odisha Vigilance.
In this connection, a case has been registered under Section 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (a) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018 at Bhubaneswar Vigilance police station and further investigation is in progress, the officials added.
