Mayurbhanj: The 3-member Central team has left Similipal after reviewing the forest fire situation on Saturday. They will present their report to the Centre.
Reports said the Central team had arrived on Thursday and they surveyed the situation in Thakurmuda and Karanjia forest ranges. They also visited Upper Barhakamuda and Jenabil Ranges situated in the core region of the biosphere.
The Central team, during their stay at Gudugudia forest rest house, interacted with villagers, Van Surakhya Samitis and other stakeholders to contain the forest fire in the sanctuary. They were of the view that proper cohesion has to be maintained between the forest staff and the villagers living in the periphery to take necessary steps for protection of the biosphere.
Reports said the Deputy Director (Similipal South) Yagna Dutta had discussed with the DFOs of Baripada and Karanjia on the forest fire situation in the sanctuary.
