A shocking incident has rocked Dantia village under the Gadabandhagoda Panchayat in Keonjhar district, where a married woman has alleged gang rape by two local youths. The accusation has led to the swift arrest of the suspects, identified as Babulu Mallick and Lipun Mallick, by the Ramchandrapur police, sparking tension in the village.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when the victim was alone. The two accused allegedly abducted her to a nearby forested area, where they are said to have committed the crime. The woman’s cries for help alerted nearby residents, causing the perpetrators to flee the scene.
Distraught but resolute, the victim promptly filed a written complaint at the Ramchandrapur police station. Based on her statement, the police registered a case under number 167/25. Acting on the directives of IIC Manoj Swain, the Sainkul outpost in-charge, Suresh Majhi, conducted a raid in Dantia village and apprehended the two accused. They are currently in custody, and further interrogation is underway to ascertain the details of the incident.
The victim has been sent for a medical examination to gather forensic evidence, a critical step in the investigation.
