Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of Legendary Biju Patnaik, which is also celebrated as Panchayati Raj & Lok Seva Diwas, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated more than 3,000 Mo Seba Kendras and OdishaOne Portal.
During his address, the Chief Minister said that service and respect are the keys to his government. The people are the master in a democracy. Empowering people and providing them services with dignity and changing the system is the goal of the State government.
The 5T initiative and Mo Sarkar programme were launched with this in mind. The state government is focusing on making it easier and easier for the general public to access various government services.
Highlighting Biju Babu’s thoughts on the use of technology, the Chief Minister said that Biju Babu wanted the benefits of technology to reach the villages and let the benefits of science be used in the service of the common man and improve his quality of life.
Mo Seba Kendra is a strong step in this direction, said the Chief Minister while adding that the kendras will allow the general public to have a variety of government benefits near their home. They will not need to visit the offices again and again.
The Chief Minister said that one Mo Seba Kendra would be opened in all the panchayats of the state in the coming days. This will provide employment opportunities for 8,000 young people. Similarly, the OdishaOne Portal would help provide services to the people of the city and those who have knowledge of using computers.
He advised the administration to make the public aware of these two programs and to monitor the quality of services.
The Chief Minister also exchanged views with the beneficiaries of Konark, Hinjili, Attabira, Nabarangpur, Bhadrak and Gajapati who took advantage of Mo Seba Kendra. The beneficiaries highly praised this State government’s program.
It is worthwhile to mention that during the inauguration of the 5T initiative in August 2019, the Chief Minister had said that the 5T initiative would be a landmark step in relieving the people of frequent visits to government offices to get various services.
Participating in the event, Minister of E & IT, Sports & Youth Services, Tusharkanti Behera, described it as a historic step by the Chief Minister and opined that it would benefit all sections of the society.
