Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 15 welfare projects worth approximately Rs 205 crore in Deogarh district on Tuesday.

Among these initiatives, 11 healthcare projects and 4 education infrastructure development projects were officially launched. A newly constructed 300-bed hospital at the district headquarters was also inaugurated, marking a significant step toward enhanced medical facilities.

In a major relief for kendu leaf pluckers and bindhalis, the CM announced a financial assistance package of Rs 41.17 crore, benefiting nearly 9 lakh workers involved in the industry. The assistance includes Rs 160 for slippers, Rs 200 for carry bags, Rs 100 for seasonal staff caps, and Rs 700 for mosquito nets and blankets.

Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to holistic development across all 30 districts of Odisha. He emphasised the importance of equitable growth, ensuring basic amenities like education, healthcare, drinking water, electricity, and transportation for the people of Deogarh.

The CM also outlined his government’s ambitious vision for Odisha’s future, aiming for a prosperous state by 2036 and contributing to India’s growth trajectory for 2047. He reiterated that his administration remains dedicated to fulfilling promises and implementing welfare measures without delay.

The event was attended by Odisha Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Deogarh MLA Romanch Ranjan Biswal, District Collector Kabindra Sahoo, and Chief District Medical Officer Dr. Biswamohan Mishra, among others.
