In a world where misinformation spreads rapidly, a fabricated newspaper front page has gone viral on social media, falsely claiming that The Daily Telegraph, a renowned UK-based publication, featured a headline praising the Pakistan Air Force as “The undisputed king of the skies” on May 10, 2025.
However, fact-checkers and media verification sources have debunked this claim, confirming that the image in question is AI-generated and has never been published by The Daily Telegraph.
The image surfaced on social media platforms, quickly gaining traction among users. Fact-checking organisations, including Full Fact and Dawn’s iVerify Pakistan, have pointed out inconsistencies, such as unusual formatting, unnatural typography, and editorial discrepancies that do not align with The Daily Telegraph’s traditional style. AI detection tools further verified that the image was artificially generated.
The misinformation even reached official channels, as Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar mistakenly referenced the fake headline in the Senate. However, journalists and opposition leaders swiftly fact-checked and corrected the claim.
