Jabalpur: A total of 10 people were killed and three are critically injured in a massive fire mishap at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Monday.
The incident took place at New Life Multispecialty hospital, in Damoh Naka in Jabalpur. Fire tenders have reached the spot. Till the last report came in, the fire is yet to be controlled.
Confirming the incident, Jabalpur Superintendent of police Siddhartha Bahuguna said that four people died on the spot due to severe burns.
Along with this, three people have suffered serious burns, whose condition remains critical.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident.
Taking to Twitter, Chouhan said, “In this hour of grief, the bereaved families should not consider themselves alone. The entire Madhya Pradesh and I are with them. The state government will provide assistance of Rs. five lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs. 50 thousand to the seriously injured. The government will also bear the cost of complete treatment of the injured.”
