A tragic incident unfolded in Goudapatana village, Khurda district, where a divorced couple was found hanging from a tree using a dupatta.

The shocking discovery was made early Thursday morning.

Local police were alerted after a scooter was found abandoned near the crime scene. Upon arrival, officers discovered the couple’s bodies tied to the tree with a single piece of cloth. Authorities quickly launched an investigation and retrieved the bodies for a post-mortem examination.

According to sources, the man worked at a garage in Sunakhala Bazaar, while the woman owned a beauty parlour in the same area. The two were previously married but had divorced and later married other partners. Reports indicate they were attempting to reconnect, with a planned meeting in the presence of family elders scheduled for the same day.

As of now, the case has been registered as an unnatural death, though no suicide note has been recovered. Investigators are gathering information from locals and family members to determine what led to this tragedy.

This heartbreaking event leaves several unanswered questions as authorities continue their probe.
