The Odisha state government has unveiled plans for a dedicated digital platform aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0).
The new system will enable efficient planning, monitoring, and grievance redressal under the affordable housing scheme.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the initiative on his official social media account, emphasizing the need for transparent and streamlined execution. The digital portal, now live for applications, facilitates end-to-end tracking of housing requests and provides a structured approach to project planning.
According to official reports, the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) has approved the construction of 3.52 lakh houses under PMAY-U 2.0, benefiting various states, including Odisha. Eligible applicants from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) categories, who do not own a pucca house anywhere in the country, can apply for assistance under the scheme.
The Odisha Urban Housing Mission (OUHM) has developed an operational manual to ensure uniform execution of PMAY-U 2.0 across urban regions. The scheme will follow two key verticals: Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) and Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP).
Authorities believe that the launch of this digital portal will enhance efficiency and ensure that housing benefits reach deserving beneficiaries without unnecessary delays.
