Nabarangpur: A drunken man slapped his 80-year-old mother to death at Darubandh Sahi here today.
The accused identified as Naveen Amnatya has been detained by the police.
According to reports, one Naveen Amnatya of Darubandh Sahi, who is an alcoholic used to regularly quarrel with his octogenarian mother Jema Amnatya under the spell of alcohol. Naveen often threatened to kill her.
Naveen had a spat with his mother as usual. In a fit of rage, he slapped his mother Jema which lead to her death.
The deceased woman’s daughter Hemalata has lodged a written complaint with the police in this connection.
