A fire erupted at the Union Bank branch on Sarabahal Road in Jharsuguda, Odisha, on Sunday morning, causing significant damage to important documents and office files stored within the premises.
According to sources, locals noticed smoke billowing out of the building around 10:30 AM and promptly alerted the Fire Service department. Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to douse the flames, preventing further damage.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit in an air conditioner that was left running from the previous evening. Investigations are underway to confirm this theory and assess the extent of the damage caused.
No casualties were reported in the incident. The bank authorities are currently evaluating the situation to determine the next steps for recovery and safety measures.
