The Ministry of Minority Affairs is set to inaugurate the much-anticipated Lok Samvardhan Parv tomorrow in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
This cultural extravaganza, running from April 6 to April 13, 2025, will celebrate the rich traditions, arts, and cuisines of India’s minority communities.
Held at the Convention Centre Ground of Kashmir University, the event will kick off with Union Minority Affairs Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju inaugurating the ceremony. Notable dignitaries, including Jammu & Kashmir’s Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah and Union Minister of State Shri George Kurian, will also grace the occasion.
Lok Samvardhan Parv serves as a national platform for over 100 artisans from 25 states and union territories to showcase their exquisite handicrafts, such as Kashmiri carpets, Punjab’s shawls, and Assam’s bamboo products. Culinary experts from 12 states will also tempt taste buds with regional delicacies, ranging from Kashmiri Wazwan to Gujarati cuisine.
Adding to the vibrancy, daily evening performances will feature music, dance, and storytelling traditions, amplifying the cultural richness of minority communities. The event aligns with the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, supporting artisans with market linkages, skill development, and financial empowerment.
Visitors, tourists, and culture enthusiasts are invited to experience this unique celebration of India’s cultural diversity and craftsmanship during the scenic Tulip Season.
