Weather conditions in the Bay of Bengal are once again set to turn volatile. According to meteorological assessments, a fresh weather system is expected to take shape towards the end of the week, raising concerns over potential rainfall activity across eastern India.
What Do the Weather Models Indicate?
- Cyclonic Circulation: A fresh cyclonic circulation is anticipated to form over the Andaman Sea around October 21.
- Low-Pressure Formation: Under its influence, the system is projected to concentrate into a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal by October 24.
- Potential Impact on Odisha: While the exact path, intensity, and landfall trajectory of the system will only become clear once the low-pressure area forms, meteorologists predict that it could trigger spells of rain across various parts of Odisha in the days following the Dussehra festivities.
Weather experts and disaster management authorities are closely monitoring the progression of the system as it organizes over open waters. Further updates regarding wind speeds and rainfall warnings are expected as the system develops later this week.
