Koraput: A breach in the main canal of Kolab reservoir in Koraput district submerged several acres of agriculture land on Friday night. The breach was reported near Ekataguda village on the outskirts of Jeypore town.
The water flow in the lower catchment of the canal was high that eventually led to the inundation of the land within hours. With more than 100 acres of agricultural land have been inundated, locals are living in panic.
On being alerted, Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
