A Milestone in Public Governance
Prime Minister Modi’s tenure as head of government began on October 7, 2001, when he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Since then, he has served continuously as a constitutional head of government—first across multiple terms leading Gujarat and subsequently as India’s Prime Minister since 2014.
Leaders from across the country and the state of Odisha have lauded the milestone, citing the Prime Minister’s administration for spearheading major socioeconomic reforms, strengthening national security, and introducing broad-spectrum welfare programs aimed at building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
