Odisha celebrated a major sporting achievement as 94 skaters earned selection for the upcoming 63rd National Skating Championship 2025.
The announcement came after the successful completion of the 12th Odisha State Roller Sports Championship at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on October 25 and 26.
Association President Dilip Kumar Tirkey, Joint Secretary Nimish Sharma, and Organising Secretary Dr Pradyumna Keshari Praharaj finalised the list following a transparent evaluation of performances across categories. Moreover, they urged the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Odisha Olympic Association, and other authorities to extend necessary support to the athletes as they prepare for the national competition.
The state championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from districts across Odisha. In addition, junior and senior skaters delivered impressive performances, showcasing the growing talent pool in roller sports. Consequently, the selection of 94 athletes reflected both the depth of skill and the commitment of the association to nurture future champions.
The Skating Association of Odisha also expressed gratitude to Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Yeddula Vijay, Director, and Amit Kumar Nayak, Deputy Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Odisha. Their encouragement and support contributed significantly to the success of the state championship and the preparation of athletes for the national stage.
With Odisha returning to the national spotlight, the athletes now carry the responsibility of representing the state at the 63rd National Roller Skating Championship 2025. Ultimately, the achievement highlights Odisha’s growing prominence in roller sports and reinforces the vision of building a strong foundation for future national and international success.
