8.62 Lakh Unemployed Youth In Odisha: State Skill Development Minister

Bhubaneswar: As many as 8.62 lakh youths have registered themselves with employment exchanges in Odisha, informed Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Premananda Nayak on Saturday. Replying to a query by Congress MLA from Jatni, Suresh Kumar Routray in the State Assembly, Minister Nayak said that a total of 8,62,067 youth have enrolled their names with the Live Register at employment exchanges in the State till May 31, 2021. MLA Routray also wanted to know what the government has done for the unemployed youth who could not apply for government jobs due to the age limit during the Covid restrictions. The Minister also informed the House even though the age limit for government jobs is 18 to 32 years, measures have been taken to provide employment to youth in the 18-45 age bracket or make them
