Bhubaneswar: Two restaurants in the state capital were penalised by the enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for violating the COVID-19 guidelines.
The BMC squad carried out COVID-19 norms enforcement drive in the areas under its south-east zone on Wednesday. Following this, officials found Chancellor Restaurant and Appetite Restaurant in Saheed Nagar not following the orders of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on dining restriction and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each restaurant.
The steep hike in Covid-19 cases prompted the authorities of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to impose stricter curbs on hotels and restaurants in different parts of the city.
All hotels/restaurants/street food joints can take online orders and deliver the same. The customers can go to such places only for take-away. No one should be allowed to eat at the spot, the SRC ordered.
