Khurda Road Railway Station witnessed a significant rescue operation today as authorities successfully intercepted a human trafficking attempt involving 12 children.

The operation, conducted by a joint team comprising Ruchika Social Service Organisation, Child Help Line, and Railway Police, took place at approximately 9 AM.

The children, originally from various districts of Bihar, were reportedly being transported to Bengaluru for forced labour. Acting on crucial information provided by the Access to Justice project of Ruchika, officials swiftly intervened, ensuring the children’s safety. Authorities are now working on rehabilitation plans and further investigation to trace the traffickers behind this operation.

The incident highlights the persistent issue of child trafficking and the urgent need for stricter vigilance and enforcement to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
