During the Odisha Assembly session, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond revealed that 105 Block Education Officer (BEO) posts are currently vacant across the state.
Among the districts, Mayurbhanj has the highest number of vacancies, with 9 BEO positions unfilled. The minister also emphasized the growing need for home-based educational infrastructure in various schools across Odisha, highlighting the urgency of filling these key administrative roles to ensure smooth functioning and oversight.
The shortage of BEOs is expected to impact the implementation of educational policies and monitoring of school-level activities. Stakeholders are urging the government to expedite recruitment and strengthen grassroots education administration.
