A 10-year-old boy, Ishit Bhatt from Gujarat, has become the talk of social media after his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
His confident – and at times, blunt – interaction with host Amitabh Bachchan has triggered a debate on parenting and manners.
What Happened On KBC
Ishit, a Class 5 student, appeared on the 17th season of the quiz show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. As soon as he took the hot seat, he told the host,
“Mereko rules pata hain issiliye aap abhi mereko rules samjhane mat baithna (I already know the rules, so don’t explain them).”
He then began answering the first four questions without waiting for the options. At one point, he said,
“Option ke bina bol raha hun, lock karo ‘dance’. Jo bhi option hai lock karo.”
During another question, he impatiently told Bachchan,
“Sir aap sawal toh poocho (Sir, please ask the question).”
His tone and body language were seen by many viewers as overconfident and disrespectful.
When Ishit Lost The Game
The young contestant played confidently until the fifth question worth ₹25,000. When asked a question about the Ramayan, Ishit asked for the options and chose Option B, saying,
“Sir ek kya uss mein chaar lock lagado, lekin lock karo.”
Unfortunately, his answer was wrong, and he was eliminated without any winnings. His parents were seen in the audience, watching his progress proudly.
Backlash On Social Media
Ishit’s behaviour soon went viral, drawing strong reactions from viewers. Many said his conduct reflected poorly on his upbringing and parental guidance.
Some of the top reactions on X (formerly Twitter) included:
-
“This kind of uncouth behaviour comes largely from parents’ encouragement.”
-
“His parents were looking at him so proudly for his behaviour… shame on such parents.”
-
“Knowledge without humility is dangerous. Teach kids manners and patience.”
A popular account, The Skin Doctor, wrote,
“If you can’t teach your kids humility, patience, and manners, they turn out to be rude and overconfident.”
Parenting Lessons Spark Discussion
The episode has sparked a larger debate on modern parenting and the fine line between confidence and arrogance.
Many viewers agreed that while children should be encouraged to speak confidently, they must also be taught respect and humility — especially in public interactions.
