YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy stabbed at Visakhapatnam airport
Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy sustained a cut injury on his left arm after being stabbed by a man at Visakhapatnam airport on Thursday.
The attacker, an employee at the airport canteen identified as Sriniwas, was taken into custody immediately by the security personnel and handed over to the police.
According to initial reports, the incident took place when Reddy was stabbed with a sharp object, apparently a small blade while he was waiting for his flight to Hyderabad at VIP lounge of the Visakhapatnam airport.
The attacker allegedly entered the VIP lounge and approached Reddy, claiming he wanted to take a selfie with him. When the politician came forward, he pretended to take a picture and then attacked him with the knife.
The YSR Congress leader was seen with blood on his left shoulder after being stabbed. Though the wound is not life-threatening, Reddy was taken to the hospital in the airport for treatment.
