Dhenkanal: The body of a youth was found in an abandoned stone quarry near Padmanabhapur under Sadar Police Limits in Dhenkanal district today. The identity of the deceased person is yet to be ascertained.
On being informed, police reached the spot and the body was retrieved for postmortem.
Police suspect that the youth could have been strangled to death and his body dumped in the quarry.
A case has been registered under relevant Sections of IPC and further investigation into the incident is underway, said sources.
