Bhubaneswar: A high drama over broad daylight kidnapping case at Delta square in the state capital has shocked the state on Thursday.
However, Bhubaneswar DCP has confirmed that the abducted person has fled from a de-addiction centre and investigation is on from all angles.
Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash took to Twitter and stated, “Today’s alleged incident of kidnapping in Delta Chowk was promptly investigated. The boy has been located. Apparently, he had fled a de-addiction centre. All aspects of the incident are being investigated including the conduct of the centre.”
According to locals, the incident took place this evening when two men brought a youth on a motorcycle from Baramunda village side.
The bike-borne persons thrashed the youth and forcibly put him in a car, in which, other men were already present. Panic gripped the area as the miscreants resorted to threatening passersby who attempted to prevent the alleged abduction, locals said.
On being informed, the Commissionerate of Police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
