Youth ‘pushed’ to death by friends in Jharsuguda


Jharsuguda: A youth was allegedly pushed to death from the rooftop of Durlaga gram panchayat office building in Jharsuguda by two of his friends during a heated argument yesterday night.

The deceased was identified as Tapan Sahu (22).

According to sources, Tapan along with his two friends- Debraj Singh and Debendra Kahali- had consumed liquor late last night. Later, they went to the rooftop of a garage near Durlaga gram panchayat office and entered into a heated argument over some issue.

The situation took an ugly turn after Debraj along with Debendra allegedly pushed Tapan from the rooftop resulting in his death on the spot, sources added.

On intimation, Talapatia police station IIC reached the spot and took Tapan to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Reportedly, police have detained one accused while another is absconding. Besides, SDPO Kailash Acharya, Talapatia IIC Pabitra Kisan and a scientific team reached the crime scene and launched a probe. The cops also seized two motorcycles belonging to the accused persons.
