Paradip: A youth who was allegedly picked by Abhaychandapur police in Paradip on Saturday reportedly died under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Manoranjan Gedi.
The family members alleged that Manoranjan was picked by the cops in a narcotics case and was subjected to torture. Following his death, the post-mortem was conducted hurriedly at night.
The family further alleged that police informed about Manorajan’s death occurred in some accident. However, they suspect foul as police took Manoranjan to Jagatsinghpur hospital instead of taking him to Paradip.
His kins also alleged of custodial death. The family is demanding an impartial probe into the case.
