Cuttack: A youth went missing after reportedly jumping into the Mahanadi River from the Jobra barrage in Cuttack on Tuesday.
The individual has been identified as Mrutyunjay Manik, who resides in the Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar.
Upon being alerted by locals, Fire Services and ODRAF teams arrived at the scene to commence a search operation. The swollen state of the Mahanadi River, however, presented difficulties for the rescue efforts.
Items believed to belong to Mrutyunjay, including a scooter and a pair of shoes, were discovered at the location where he is thought to have jumped into the river. As of the latest updates, he has not been located.
