Youth attempts suicide in front of CM’s residence, rescued

Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday rescued a youth who attempted to commit suicide in front of the Chief Minister’s residence (Naveen Niwas) here in the city.

The identity of the youth was not ascertained immediately.

Sources said the youth attempted to end his life in front of the CM’s residence after failing to get his Plus II examination certificate. A decade has passed since the youth had appeared the Plus II examination in 2008, but he is yet to receive the certificate.

Following this, the youth attempted to commit, but on-duty police personnel overpowered him and detained him for further interrogation, sources added.
