Cuttack: A youth sustained critical burn injuries after he set himself on fire in front of Kishannagar police station in Cuttack’s Salepur on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses said the victim arrived in front of the police station with a kerosene-filled container, poured it on himself and set himself afire. Seeing this, policemen rushed and wrapped him in a bedsheet to douse the fire. Though the fire was put out, the youth sustained severe burn injuries.
Though the reason of the self-immolation bid is not yet clear, the youth has been rushed to Cuttack hospital for treatment.
