Yoga can be beneficial during coronavirus lockdown: Indian-American cardiologist

Washington: An Indian-American cardiologist said people staying indoors due to lockdown could benefit from yoga which helps boost immunity.

Indranill Basu-Ray from Memphis Veteran Hospital in Tennessee and Adjunct Professor of Public Health at University of Memphis said a large part of yoga is meditation and breathing techniques that ameliorate stress.

Yoga can bring down anxiety and depression during lockdown due to coronaviurs outbreak, the Indian-American cardiologist said.

The former Harvard faculty said the role of meditation in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases is spectacular.
