Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 1 becomes 1st Kannada film to cross Rs 200 cr mark globally


Bengaluru: Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 1 became the first Kannada movie to have crossed the Rs 200 crore mark globally.

In its Hindi version, KGF, that stands for Kolar Gold Fields, is all set to go past the Rs 40 crore-mark, despite facing competition from two big Hindi films in the form of Zero and Simmba.

The movie, which released on December 21 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi, is still running steadily at the box office and has entered the Rs 200 crore club by the end of its 18-day.



Ranking as the first Kannada film to make around Rs 120 crore in Karnataka alone, KGF is now the only Kannada film in the history to hit a century as well as double century at the box office.

The film has done good business in the US as well, crossing Rs 5.31 crore.



The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and also stars Ramachandra Raju, Vasishta N. Simha, Ayyappa P. Sharma, and Harish Roy in pivotal roles apart from the lead cast.
