Women MPs demand apology from Rahul Gandhi over ‘Rape in India’ remark

New Delhi: Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Rape in India’ remark has triggered uproar in Parliament with women MPs demanding an apology from him.

As the Lok Sabha convened at 11 am on Friday, the ruling party’s MPs demanded that Rahul should apologise for saying India was moving from ‘Make in India’ to Rape in India’.

Rahul has twice hit out at Modi government for failing to curb crimes against women over the last few days following the gruesome Telangana vet rape and murder and Unnao rape victim’s death.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha today, Union minister and Amethi MP Smriti Irani asked what message was Rahul Gandhi giving to the country.
