Bhubaneswar: The Department of Fisheries and ARD of Odisha is organising Matsya Pranee Samavesh Odisha from 16th to 18th Feb, 2024. On this occasion, a stall has been set up by the Department of Women and Child Development to create awareness about the nutritional development programs and schemes of women and children of the state.
The main objective of this stall is to create awareness among the public about the services provided under the Integrated Child Development Scheme. Added to that the IEC materials on various nutrition interventions of the Department such as supplementary nutrition programme (SNP), Mukhyamantri Sampoorna Pusti Yojana (MSPY), Mamata, Pre-school education have also displayed in the stall. Teaching and learning materials prepared by the State Institute for Women and Children has also displayed for creating awareness on the use of age appropriate teaching and learning materials for children. In order to promote dietary diversity, recipe demonstration was done to promote the use of Chhatua provided under SNP and other locally available food items.
The Department of Women and Child Development of Odisha Government has been giving priority to the nutritional supplements of women, adolescents, youth and children of the state. Under the Mukhyamnatri Sampoorna Pusti Yojana, Kishori Mela are organized throughout the states to develop the health, education and nutrition supplements of young girls and also provide them life skills training. In addition, under Pada Pusti program, arrangements are made to provide hot food to the children of remote and tribal areas in their Pada and villages.
The main objective of this stall is to create awareness about all these programs. To meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women and mothers. The assistance amount under Mamata Yojana has been doubled. In this new Mamata Yojana, the amount of assistance will be given to the beneficiary’s deposit account in 2 installments.
