Woman passenger slips while boarding moving train in Bhubaneswar, saved by RPF Constable

Bhubaneswar: An alert Constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF) saved the life of a woman passenger who slipped while boarding a moving train at Bhubaneswar Railway Station today.

The woman passenger has been identified as Nibedita Sahoo, a Lecturer of the IT department at Ramadevi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar.

According to the reports, Nibedita was trying to board the 18304 Puri-Sambalpur Intercity Express at Platform no 1 of Bhubaneswar railway station this evening when she lost balance and was about to slip into the gap between the running train and the platform.

In the meantime, RPF Constable Subrat Kumar Maharana, who was on patrol, ran to her help and pulled her to safety within seconds.

The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed at the city railway station.

In a written letter to Bhubaneswar RPF IIC, Nibedita expressed her gratitude to the on-duty constable SK Maharana for saving her life by pulling her out from the gap in between the running train and the platform.
