Jajpur: In a tragic incident, a woman was killed while her husband sustained critical injuries after being hit by a speeding Hyva truck at Bhalukhai in the district today.
The deceased has been identified as Ahalya Behera.
and the injured person identified as Prafulla Behera from Guda village under Sora police station limits in the Balasore district.
According to available information, Prafulla along with his wife Ahalya was returning to their village from Bhubaneswar on a motorcycle. Meanwhile, a speeding truck hit them from the rear. Due to the impact of the incident, Ahalya died on the spot while Prafulla sustained grievous injuries.
Later, police reached the spot and rescued Prafulla to a local hospital, sources added.
