Sambalpur: A woman was killed while five others were critically injured in a head-on collision between two cars near Barhapura Chakk on NH-55 under Charmal police station limits here.
The deceased has been identified as Manorama Das (45) of Schoolpara in Belpahar and the injured were identified as Rupesh Das, Ajit Das, Paal Das, Dhir Das, and Chandan Mohanty.
As per reports, the incident took place while an SUV was en route to Sambalpur from Boudh when it collided with a Maruti 800 coming from the opposite directions at high speed.
The injured persons have been admitted to Charmal Community health centre for treatment.
On being informed, Charmal Police reached the spot and handed over the body to family members after post-mortem.
