London: Two-time champion Andy Murray will face Czechia’s Tomas Machac in the first round of men’s singles on the second day of Wimbledon 2024 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), London on Tuesday.
Murray, who won Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016, has indicated this is likely to be his last season on tour before retirement.
Second seed and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic will begin his campaign against Czech qualifier Vit Kopriva. The Serbian has not played a professional match since he injured his knee during the fourth round of the French Open.
In women’s singles, top seed and World No. 1 Iga Swiatek will face USA’s Sofia Kenin while defending champion Marketa Vondrousova takes on Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro.
