Cuttack: Wife of tainted millionaire cop, ASP Trinath Mishra, Diptimayi, filed an application for anticipatory bail in the Orissa High Court.
Notably, the additional superintendent of police (ASP) in Odisha was remanded to judicial custody on Wednesday for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, according to the Vigilance department.
After a thorough search, inventory, and inquiry, the income, expenditure, and assets of the police officer posted in Cuttack were calculated and he was found in possession of assets worth Rs. 9 crore which constituted 489 per cent of his known sources of income, the Vigilance department said.
Mishra was arrested on Tuesday after he failed to satisfactorily account for the properties and assets in his possession.
Mishra’s wife,Diptimayi Choudhury, had earlier denied all the allegations and said her husband has been trapped as part of a planned conspiracy.
