Well-marked Low Pressure; Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre here has issued heavy rainfall alert for several districts of the State.

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, the well marked low pressure area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh persists and it is likely to move nearly northwestwards across Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hour.

“The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Bhopal, centre of Well Marked Low Pressure Area over southeast Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood, Bhatapara,
Jharsuguda, Balasore and thence eastsoutheastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal, it added.

Under the influence, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall activities in the next 48 hours.

A ‘yellow warning’ has also been issued in this regard.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED)
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri.

DAY-2 (VALID FROM 0830 HRS IST OF 13.09.2022 UP TO 0830 HRS IST OF 14.09.2022).
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED)
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.09.2022).
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING (BE UPDATED)
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Jajpur.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.09.2022).
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha, South Coastal Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.09.2022).
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
