Weather Update: Thunderstorm Likely In These Odisha Dists Today


Bhubaneswar: Even as several parts of Odisha are grappling with heat and humid conditions, possibility of light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm is likely to provide some respite as the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted thunderstorm activities in several parts of the state in the next 24 hours.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, “Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Angul.”

The cyclonic circulation over westcentral Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood extending up to 4.5 km above mean sea level persists, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.
