Malkangiri: In a brutal incident, a Ward member posted at Gharsapalli under Seemanta police station limits in Malkangiri district was murdered late last night.
The deceased has been identified as Badchi Cheena from the same locality. He was working as a ward member for past 10years in the village.
According to available information, the incident took place while Badchi was asleep and a miscreant sneaked into his house and killed him. Badchi’s death has sparked fear in the village. Following this deceased’s wife lodged a complaint in this regard.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter. However the actual reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, police said.
