New Delhi: Vivo has launched its Vivo Y15s (2021) as its latest affordable phone in India. The Vivo Y15s is also based on Google’s Android Go edition — the streamlined version of Android. It comes in two distinct colours and packs a 5,000mAh battery. The Vivo Y15s is likely to face tough competition from the likes of the Moto E40 and Redmi 10 Prime.
Vivo Y15s pricing and availability in India
The lone 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option of the Vivo Y15s is priced at Rs. 10,990 (MRP Rs. 13,990) in India. The phone is available in Mystic Blue and Wave Green colours and will be available for purchase starting Friday through the Vivo India E-Store and other retail shops around the country.
The Vivo Y15s has released in Singapore in November for SGD 179 (approximately Rs. 10,000) with the same 3GB + 32GB combination. The Vivo Y15s is not to be confused with the Vivo Y15S, which debuted in 2015.
Specifications of the Vivo Y15s
The Vivo Y15s has a dual-SIM (Nano) configuration and runs Android 11 (Go edition) with Funtouch OS 11.1 on top. The phone has a 6.51-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P35 octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. The Vivo Y15s has a dual back camera arrangement with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and an f/2.2 lens for photographs and videos. A 2-megapixel macro lens is also included in the camera configuration.
The Vivo Y15s has an 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.0 lens on the front for selfies and video chats.
The Vivo Y15s comes with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded with a dedicated microSD card. 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, and a Micro-USB port are among the connectivity choices. An accelerometer, ambient light, and a proximity sensor are among the sensors onboard. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor on the side.
The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports standard 10W charging. Furthermore, the Vivo Y15s is 163.96×75.2×8.28mm in size and weighs 179 grammes.
